Standards can help organizations to manage the way they plan and design their products and services, to ensure they are as effective as possible. Standards can also help organizations to plan the whole life cycle of their product or service.
At a more technical level, Standards support the development of detailed product specifications. Without these Standards, it would be difficult for design engineers to be sure that the product they design is the product that will finally be manufactured.
