Standards and your course

This section provides students, lecturers, librarians and researchers in further and higher education with more information about specific British Standards relating to areas of study.

Many courses require you to have some knowledge about the Standards used by relevant businesses.

Some Standards, such as quality management systems (ISO 9001), are relevant to most businesses, from small companies to international enterprises. Other Standards are very specific, for instance, guidance on designing a new household appliance that is safe, or giving specifications for testing a new prototype chair design.
