Agriculture & Horticulture

This section covers three areas: plants, trees and grounds maintenance.

Plants and trees need to be handled carefully to keep them healthy, particularly if they are being pruned, sold or moved. The use of British Standards can help to make sure that trees and plants are well cared for.

Trees can pose a particular challenge where construction work and buildings are involved. There are Standards to ensure trees aren't damaged by building work, and that buildings aren't damaged by trees.

Looking after grounds can involve a number of different issues. Whether you are looking after hard areas, landscaped areas or areas that contain water, there are British Standards for maintenance to help ensure grounds are safe and well-presented.
