Welcome to British Standards Institution's Standards in Action website
Standards in Action has been developed to provide an integrated range of resources that can be used by students and academics within higher education institutions when teaching or learning about quality and standards.
Standards and quality, in one way or another, influence almost everybody in the workplace. They cross disciplines and types of employment, and influence people in all parts of the private sector as well as across the public services. Today standards affect how organisations compete, the strategic and tactical decisions that people make in the workplace, the thinking that takes place behind those decisions as well as the way people operate. In fact they are literally pervasive. In a modern society, quality and standards determine the goods we consume and the services we are provided with, and these in turn influence the quality of life that follows.
Within the field of quality and standards, using this website enables you to read current research articles, find out more about quality and standards, access teaching and learning materials and also look at current case studies.
This is an evolving initiative. With a large Editorial Board from across the globe, the International Journal of Quality and Standards seeks contributions from academics who are undertaking research into related areas. Teaching materials are also sought in order to aid delivery in relevant areas. Please contact sheila@mb-a.biz for more information.
