This paper reports the results of an investigation looking at the graduateness of business and information systems graduates. It aims to validate the understanding of graduateness by students, lecturers and employers. In order to achieve this, it pays detailed attention to the pre-degree factors that influence undergraduate education, such as student background and assumptions; the process of education followed by students; and the skills and attributes that an undergraduate graduates with. In order to investigate these factors a primary research survey was conducted involving the collection of views of business and information systems students, lecturers and potential employers using questionnaires and interviews in the UK. The results reveal that there was a mismatch of views of students, lecturers and employers surrounding learning styles and the need for subject specific and general skills and attributes.
