Theme parks and playgrounds
Ever felt scared on a roller coaster or massive waterslide? To ensure that you can feel scared but are not actually put in any danger, engineers and designers work to Standards when planning their newest fun ride.
Many people are involved in the planning and set up of playgrounds, including officers from local authorities, school governors and care takers.
British Standard requirements make sure that the safety and maintenance of equipment is tested before it is set up. Tests cover general safety and materials used.
