As you can see there are many parts of the Standard covering bikes and accessories. The full title of the main part is

BS 6102-1 Cycles. Specification for safety requirements for bicycles.

It's referred to in UK legislation, and manufacturers have to build bicycles to this Standard to ensure that they are safe and durable. Different parts of the Standard are shown on the diagram and are used by the manufacturers to ensure test methods, specifications and dimensions are followed accurately.
